Airtel is currently connected with as many as 181 operators in 78 countries allowing Airtel subscribers the unmatched advantage of using their existing GSM mobile connection, wherever they go. They can make outgoing calls using their Airtel phone and SIM card; they can also receive all incoming calls while they are roaming.
Roaming with Airtel also allows subscribers of Airtel's partner networks to use their GSM phone in Seychelles.
How do I activate and use Roaming?
Before traveling, it is essential to activate Roaming at your nearest Airtel Office. Visit the Showroom in Victoria or the Head Office in Providence for assistance.
Upon arrival in the country where Airtel provides you with Roaming, your mobile will automatically select the local network with the strongest signal. Only ensure that your mobile is on the Automatic Network mode.
How do I select Automatic Network Mode?
- You can select Automatic Network
- Using ‘Menu’
- Scroll to ‘Network’
- Select ‘Automatic’
Will my mobile be provided with coverage anywhere?
Airtel boasts with Roaming on more than 140 networks, providing you with coverage in over 61 countries.
It is important to have your mobile checked for compatibility to the network you will be using, before departure. (e.g. in USA and Thailand only Tri-band mobiles will gain access)

How do I select a network manually?
If your mobile struggles to pick up a signal in the country you visit, simply follow these steps to select a network, please note that the prompts might differ slightly from mobile to mobile:
- Using ‘Menu’ (or Menu Options)
- Select ‘Networks’ (or Network Selection)
- Accept ‘Select Net’ (or Available Networks)
- After your mobile has scanned the area, the screen will display the abbreviations of the networks available.
- Scroll to the desired network and accept. (or select ‘Register Now’)
- Your handset will then register onto the selected network.
